This is the Spot is a passion project nurtured from my own need to find accurate listings of dog friendly accommodations suitable for those with dogs that are a little different. Sure, finding 'dog friendly' accommodations is one thing, but finding good ones is another!
Meet The Founder & CEO
About Me
I'm Lorren (the one with thumbs), a 30-year-old content creator, social media manager, and utterly obsessed ‘dog mum’ to my wonderful reactive Dalmatian, Loki, who was and is the inspiration and spotty CEO behind this platform. Loki took his role very seriously. One of us works hard to keep things running smoothly, while the other was often found snoozing on the job - usually in the cosiest spot available.
Continuing Lokis Legacy
Loki was a greedy bundle of spots and chaos. He’s been my whole world since he was 8 weeks old. We both have heterochromia (two different coloured eyes), so I like to believe it was fate that brought us together. He recently celebrated his 7th birthday, but unfortunatly passed away on the 9th March 2026 with IVDD.
Sadly, he became reactive to dogs at just a year old due to a combination of being attacked several times by other dogs, had remained fear reactive ever since. We made lots of progress over the years, but following a off lead dog attack in 2022 and again in 2025 we lost all of our progress. I decided to stop training and working on it, and to focus on management and giving him the most fulfilling life.
As he's grew older he then began to struggle with chronic pain in his hip and spine, which makes him even more unsure and nervous around other dogs and in certain situations. You may also notice his tail is short - this is because he had a tumour removed on the 31st August 2023.
And so…
Many a time, we had been disappointed with holidays that were supposed to be relaxing, due to insecure fencing, off-lead dog encounters, or undisclosed nearby neighbours, so I decided to create the platform and space I so desperately needed myself.
Since starting in February 2024, we’ve grown to over 100k followers on Socials – all wonderful dog parents who, like me, are searching for safe and relaxing accommodations where they can escape with their reactive and anxious dogs snuggled up by their sides, right where they belong!
