Extra features

Tempreture Set Dog Wash
A professional-grade doggy wash, grooming, and drying station awaits! With shampoos and doggy towels provided, this space is perfectly designed for cleaning muddy pets after walks.

Three Shires
Just a short distance away, the Three Shires Inn is a fantastic dog friendly spot to enjoy after a day exploring the fells. This traditional Lakeland pub warmly welcomes dogs in the bar area, even providing water bowls and treats for four-legged visitors, making it a favourite with walkers.

With cosy interiors, roaring fires, and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to unwind with your dog by your side if they are comfortable. If not, you can leave dogs that may struggle at settled in the kitchen or utility areas with their beds and toys while you pop out for lunch!

Dogs can be left if settled
Dogs who are happy, settled, and confident being left for short periods can be safely accommodated in the kitchen or utility areas, with their own beds and familiar toys to help them relax. This allows you the flexibility to pop out to the local pub, such as the Three Shires Inn, or nearby shops if needed.

It’s a particularly helpful option for more sensitive dogs who may prefer a calm, familiar space to rest while you’re out, ensuring they remain comfortable and stress-free during your stay.

Things to note

Horses & Livestock
Horses may graze on the neighbouring property at some points in the year. Further afield, to the back of the property, sheep may graze, which may be visible from some of the windows of Lowfield.

Walkers & Passersby
Lowfield is situated on a quiet lane near several popular walking routes. Due to its location, there are often walkers and passersby using the road. The fence line that faces the lane is slightly elevated because of the natural slope of the land, offering some added separation. However, dogs that are reactive to seeing people pass by may still find this challenging.

This property also shares the fence line with the garden on the left of the property.

Fencing
The garden and surrounding grounds at Lowfield are fully enclosed, offering a secure and peaceful space to relax. The boundaries feature a combination of traditional stone walling, metal railings, and fencing, with additional discreet mesh in place to help keep smaller dogs safely contained.

While the area is enclosed and suitable for most dogs, guests should be aware that particularly athletic or agile dogs may be able to jump sections of the boundary, and very tiny toy breeds may need to be supervised when outdoors.

A Beautiful, Dog-Friendly Retreat in the Heart of Little Langdale

Lowfield House sits in the beautiful Little Langdale Valley, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the breathtaking nature that surrounds it. With famous Lake District hills all around, this stunning holiday home combines classic charm with modern comfort, perfect for a peaceful getaway in one of England’s prettiest locations.

When you arrive, you’ll see wide views across the valley that are both impressive and peaceful. You can enjoy your morning coffee appreciating the views and then relax in the private hot tub at night under the stars. Every moment here feels truly special.

Doggy Guests

Lowfield goes above and beyond to make dogs feel just as welcome as their humans, creating a genuinely dog friendly experience from the moment you arrive. Each dog is greeted with a complimentary welcome pack, including quality treats, poo bags, and a toy or chew, along with essentials like stainless steel food and water bowls and dog towels for muddy paws or post-swim drying.

The house itself is thoughtfully set up for life with dogs. They're free to roam throughout the slate-floored areas, making it easy to manage after long countryside walks, while the spacious layout ensures everyone has room to relax. For quieter moments or when heading out, dogs can be comfortably settled in the kitchen or utility areas with their beds and toys. Guests are simply asked to keep dogs out of the bedrooms unless they are assistance dogs.

Outside, Lowfield truly shines. There's three-quarters of an acre of enclosed garden with mixed stone walling and fencing, so dogs can run freely while you enjoy a morning coffee and take in the stunning views. There’s even a temperature-controlled warm outdoor doggy wash handheld shower, perfect for washing down muddy dogs after a day exploring, and plenty of towels for drying off.

The surrounding area is equally welcoming, with countless scenic walks straight from the door and a great selection of dog friendly pubs and restaurants nearby.

Inside
Lowfield is seamlessly designed for comfort, style, and plenty of space. It can sleep up to 10 guests in five en-suite bedrooms, each with great views and special touches to help you relax. This main living space at Lowfield is a fantastic communal area - at its heart is a generous, comfortable seating area with a large leather sofa, perfect for gathering as a group, whether that’s for conversation, games, or a cosy evening in front of the fire. The open-plan layout flows seamlessly into the dining area, where a substantial wooden table provides plenty of space for shared meals, making it ideal for socialising and spending quality time together.

Thoughtful touches like soft throws, warm lighting, and natural materials add to the relaxed yet stylish feel, while the spacious layout ensures there’s room for everyone without feeling crowded.

This is a great communal space for bringing people together, and with a second living area also available, the house becomes perfect for larger and multi-generational families who want the option to spread out and enjoy their own space when needed.

Perfect Location for Walks & Exploring

Lowfield House is in a great spot for exploring the Lake District, with amazing walks starting right outside the door. You can walk to the historic Slater’s Bridge, visit Cathedral Quarry (I absolutely recommend visiting at least once) or take a scenic stroll to Blea Tarn. All of these are easy to reach without driving.

The area around Lowfield House also perfect for people who love walking and nature. There are winding rivers, old woodlands, and impressive mountain views all around, catering both for those that want an easy walk in the valley or a tougher hike up the hills. Just down the road, there's a footpath that opens up into a couple of fields that were wide and perfect for a morning wander.
