Laundry Cottage is the perfect retreat for groups of friends or larger families - comfortably sleeping up to six guests. The cottage features three inviting bedrooms, including two doubles (one with an en-suite) and a twin room with two single beds.
Set in a peaceful location with beautiful views across the estate, the cottage offers a relaxing countryside escape. During late autumn and winter, guests can even catch glimpses of Drumlanrig Castle through the trees from the garden or tub. Outside, there is a large enclosed garden that dogs will love to roam and explore and parking for up to three cars.
Step Inside
The heart of the cottage is its spacious open-plan living and dining area, complete with a modern kitchen, a 55-inch Smart TV, and a cosy log burner - ideal for relaxing evenings after exploring the local area. The well-equipped kitchen also includes integrated appliances such as a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, electric oven, and hob. Dogs are warmly welcomed at Laundry Cottage, with thoughtful extras provided to help them feel right at home, including treats, food and water bowls, poo bags, and cosy blankets. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome on the furniture, and protective throws are supplied for your convenience, although you’re very welcome to bring your own blankets if preferred.
On the ground floor, you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms. One is a charming double room with elegant panelled detailing, while the other is a generous twin room with zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as a king-size bed if preferred.
The downstairs family bathroom features a classic claw-foot bath with an overhead shower, perfect for either a long soak or a refreshing start to the day.
Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom offers a king-size bed, built-in wardrobes, and a stylish en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Oil-fired central heating throughout the property ensures a warm and comfortable stay in every season.
Enjoy the Outdoors
The enclosed garden offers peaceful woodland views towards Drumlanrig Castle and is perfect for guests bringing their dogs. A selection of estate walking routes can be accessed just minutes from the doorstep, with many wide, open paths that make it easy to give other walkers space when needed. Some woodland trails and sections of the cycle route are narrower in places, while the main castle grounds and café areas naturally tend to be busier. However, these areas can easily be avoided, making the cottage well suited to dogs who may be nervous or prefer quieter surroundings.
Outside, guests can also unwind in the hot tub or enjoy evenings under the stars with the much-loved pizza oven.
