Loki's Legacy

Celebrating a Life Well Loved for Seven Years

Loki is the reason This Is The Spot exists.

What started as a necessity for us (finding safe, quiet, and suitable places for Loki) quickly became something much bigger. I realised how many other dog parents were facing the same struggles. Places that felt easy for others weren’t always accessible for dogs like Loki. Some were frankly downright stressful, misleading, and frustrating. So I began sharing the locations we found, the stays we loved, and the spaces where reactive and anxious dogs could truly relax.

For every reactive dog.

For every human who just wants their dog to feel safe, understood, and included.

Everything this page stands for began with him.

And everything it becomes will always be because of him. 🖤

Loki was the dog I had dreamed of my entire life.
Ever since I was little, I had always wanted a dog and had mostly always wanted a Dalmatian, and when I finally moved out and brought Loki home at 8 weeks old, that dream became my reality. He even had his own Instagram, which I started the day I brought him home. From that moment on, he connected with people all over the world, touching lives in ways I could never have imagined.

He wasn’t just my first dog and my childhood dream; he was absolutely and entirely my whole world. Truly, irrevocably, his life is so deeply intertwined with mine that losing him is impossible. Not only is Loki a huge part of my life, but he also leaves a lasting imprint on thousands of other people's lives.

Loki has changed the lives of so many reactive and anxious dogs through his social media channel and, more recently, through This is The Spot.

Life with Loki had its challenges. I worked with behaviourists and put in countless hours supporting him, Loki still found other dogs overwhelming. He was reactive, sensitive, and deeply misunderstood by many, but not me. Instead of letting that limit us, it became our purpose.

Loki shaped this platform.

Because of him, we’ve helped so many people feel less alone and helped so many dogs experience the world in a way that works for them.

Despite being a reactive dog, I know that Loki saw so much of the world. We travelled to incredible places, made unforgettable memories, and proved that dogs like him can still live full, adventurous lives with the right environment and understanding.

Loki passed away on the 9th of March 2026, just a few months after turning seven.

Losing him has been the hardest thing I’ve ever faced, and navigating life without him is something I’m still learning every day.

His legacy will continue, and This Is The Spot will continue, for Loki and the thousands of dogs like him.
