Extra features
The Garden
The garden is large, flat, and fully fenced and secure, with 4ft stock-type fencing, making it dog-proof. However, a tiny dog may be able to go under the gates, but extra barriers are available upon request should you need them.
Stargazing
Located in a gorgeous, low-light, pollution-free area, The Hyem is perfectly situated for stargazing, and a telescope is set up and resides in the bedroom for you to use freely. Of course, you can also view the night sky from the wood-burning hot tub outside, too!
Dog Wash
There is an outdoor shower located at the back of the cabin, perfect for rinsing off your dog's paws after muddy adventures exploring what the Northumberland trails have to offer.
Things to note
Livestock
The surrounding fields are sometimes home to either friendly alpacas or potentially sheep, and dogs with prey issues may struggle. You may see or hear the occasional tractor, depending on the season.
Find out more
For dogs who find the world overwhelming, Hyem is more than just a getaway. Tucked away in a secluded fold of the countryside, this thoughtfully crafted cabin retreat offers a haven of calm, comfort, and security for both humans and their sensitive dogs.
At Hyem, every detail is designed with relaxation and calm in mind. The entire property is fully enclosed with a large secure garden, so you and your dog can relax without the worry of unexpected encounters. Whether it’s your dog's first holiday or a much-needed break from the bustle of the world, Hyem offers space to breathe, explore, and just be.
Step inside and feel the world slow down. Rich reclaimed wood panelling wraps the interior in warmth, while natural textures soothe. The lounge area invites you to sink into deep leather sofas beside the crackling log-burning stove, perfect for those slower mornings or star-filled nights. Dogs are warmly welcomed with welcome treats, bowls, and on the sofas, with cosy throws provided for them to nestle into.
A barn-style sliding door leads to the bedroom sleeping two, where a soft bed awaits beneath warm-toned timber walls and charming windows that let in the golden light of the day. Step inside and you’ll find a light-filled bedroom where soft morning light filters through warm wooden panelling, bouncing off handpicked details. A telescope for stargazing and a built-in desk make space for slow journaling or simply enjoying a cuppa while listening to birdsong outside your window.
But the magic truly begins when you climb the stairs and open the doors to your private balcony. Here, you’ll find a wood-fired hot tub waiting under open skies, perfectly positioned for soaking in panoramic sunset views that stretch out over rolling green fields and trees. Made for unwinding, glass in hand, with only the sound of distant birds to interrupt the quiet.
The kitchen is a rustic yet modern joy, stocked with all the essentials to make your stay seamless. Cook a homemade meal while your dog naps nearby, then enjoy it at the breakfast bar with views of the countryside just beyond the window. Open shelving, handcrafted details, and warm lighting create a space that feels relaxing and inspiring.
Step outside and you’ll find the magic continues. Whether you’re on the roof terrace, the enclosed lower garden, or swaying gently in one of the hanging porch seats, each outdoor nook offers peace, privacy, and calm. Your dog can sniff, explore, or sunbathe with confidence and freedom, fully enclosed in safety. You, in turn, can relax knowing they’re content, calm, and cared for.
