Extra features

Fenced Paddock
Opposite the bothy, there’s a large fenced paddock that’s often available for guests to use as an extension of their garden space, offering even more room to relax and roam. Occasionally, this paddock may be used for grazing, but the bothy itself has a fenced private garden for you to enjoy.

Please note that as the fencing is a 4ft stock type, smaller dogs might be able to squeeze under the gates if they’re inclined to explore.

Things to note

Wildlife & Livestock
The Warren Bothy is nestled in fields upon fields of warrens. Rabbits and sheep are frequently spotted, and the walk up takes you through fields that will contain grazing sheep. During lambing season, there may be even more sheep than usual, which may make it less suitable for prey-driven dogs or dogs that struggle with livestock.

Garden Fence
Please note that as the fencing around the bothy is a 4ft stock type, smaller dogs might be able to squeeze under and keen jumpers over if they’re inclined to explore.

Find out more

Warren Bothy, an off-grid stone cottage set on the scenic Long Mynd in the heart of the Shropshire Hills, is an idyllic retreat, especially suited to reactive or anxious dogs. Surrounded by wide open fields and blissful tranquillity, it’s an ideal escape, free from the stressors of busy roads, neighbours, or close human activity, allowing both you and your dog to fully unwind in one of England’s remaining wilderness areas.

The cabin was originally a Warrener's Cottage and was refurbished in 2023, providing a rustic and restful space, perfectly suited for the ideal nature-focused getaway. It has no WiFi, and no plugs! (only USB plugs for phone charging) but you'll enjoy some of the finest views in Shropshire, with passing sheep and leaping rabbits as your only company.

Guests park in a private area, with the Bothy accessible via a ten minute walk. A hand cart is provided to help haul your things.

The bothy itself is a peaceful retreat featuring a private garden and original stone and timber interiors, along with a cosy mezzanine bedroom, kitchen, and toilet. A log burner, paired with locally sourced firewood, keeps the cabin warm and inviting. A 12v solar system supports lights and phone charging, and there's a separate timber shower hut with LPG-powered hot water. Although there’s a private water supply, bottled water is provided for drinking. (When we said off-grid, we meant it.)

The kitchen includes a hob, a cool box (no fridge), and essential cooking supplies; just bring ice, provisions, and a spirit of adventure. Seasonings, tea, coffee, and washing-up supplies are provided.

With its peaceful seclusion, Warren Bothy offers a unique glamping experience. During the winter season, guests should note the access requirements, walking distance, and reliance on off-grid utilities, making it best suited for those with an adventurous spirit.
