Extra features

Lochside Views
This gorgeous shepherds hut overlooks a beautiful loch, perfect for relaxing, birdwatching, or simply admiring the calming reflections and wildlife.

Outdoor Relaxation
The hut has a fire pit and a BBQ, perfect for evenings spent under the stars, toasting marshmallows and sizzling a burger. It’s ideal for solo travel or a romantic stay for two.

Off Grid
This space is off-grid, a true place to switch off with no way to charge electric devices and no wifi. Bring a good book, and be prepared to fully immerse yourself in the rural wonders that surround this gorgeous shepherds hut.

Remote Surrounding Fields and walks
The hut is situated on a working farm and has several fields surrounding it that you can respectfully roam. Its location leaves you feeling very secluded, with minimal chance of encountering another walker or person.

Things to note

Livestock
The field that surrounds the hut may be home to sheep, cows or other livestock for the duration of your stay. This can vary on the time of year and they’re sometimes left fallow for hay. When we visited it was empty, but it's worth checking with the host so you know what to expect.

No Enclosed Space
The hut has no enclosed space other than inside the hut itself, so dogs will often require a long line or tether.

Open Loch
The loch is unfenced and open, with its edges very close to the hut and is home to an abundance of waterfowl that reside on the other side of the loch. This makes it unsuitable for dogs that have a high prey drive, or are potentially sensitive or reactive to the sound of birds.

Find out more

Tucked away in the rolling Scottish countryside, this stunning off-grid shepherds hut offers an unforgettable escape into nature. Perched by the water’s edge, the hut boasts sweeping views across a glistening loch, with the open landscape unfolding into gently undulating hills as far as the eye can see. The space is compact yet beautifully crafted, with rustic charm and thoughtful touches that make it feel both cosy and luxurious. A wood-burning fireplace sits at the heart of the hut, inviting long evenings curled up in warmth, watching the flames dance, as the last light of the day fades behind the hills.

We stayed here for a night as part of our road trip through Scotland, and it completely stole our hearts. We spent hours simply sitting outside - especially in the evening, while the golden light of the sun melted into the hill and the loch turned to glass. Camping out by the fire pit, marshmallows skewered and warming in the flames, we were completely at peace.

From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere invites deep relaxation and absolute reconnection with nature - a perfect space for solo travel or as a couple. Inside, the space is warm and inviting - a small log burner sets the tone for cosy evenings, while thoughtful rustic touches enhance the hut’s cosy and romantic character.

Even though it’s completely off-grid, the hut doesn’t skimp on comfort. In fact, the outdoor amenities here are fab. The outdoor shower is hot and excellent, and the eco-toilet is pristinely maintained, offering a truly unique blend of wild living and comfort. It’s rare to find outdoor facilities this well-executed in such a remote setting.

With no other guests or properties in sight, this hut offers a kind of solitude that’s hard to come by. It’s just you, the wild, and a feeling of total freedom. Whether you’re passing through like we were, or staying for a few days to truly unwind, this little sanctuary offers something rare and unforgettable.
