Extra features

Dogs Stay Free
Dogs stay for free, with up to three welcome and more upon request, although it's worth noting that the main hut space is limited, so you may struggle with several larger dogs.

Three Acre Garden
The garden space spans a generous three acres and is fully fenced, offering a safe and expansive outdoor environment, perfect for exploration and adventure. The land features well-maintained, mowed winding paths that meander through open spaces. The garden space also has a small pond, which is fenced off and gated to prevent unwanted doggy diving.

Dogs On Beds
Dogs are warmly welcomed on the furniture and on beds. However, guests are kindly asked to use the provided throws or bring their own to help keep the sheets free from muddy paws.

Off Grid
Tucked away and fully off-grid, this cabin is powered by its own solar energy and gas. It’s a place to truly slow down and reconnect with nature. Please note that charging is limited to USB only, as there are no 3-pin plug sockets - an intentional touch to help you fully switch off.

Local Walks
There are local footpaths on your doorstep, heading out and to the right. There's also Kielder Forest, just a half-hour drive from the hut, and the "Duchess Trail" is recommended as one of the quieter options for those looking to avoid walkers.

Things to note

Fenceing & Gates
The space is fully enclosed and gated, offering a secure environment for most medium to large dogs. The fencing is a mix of stone walls and traditional fencing, standing between 3ft and 4ft high. The entrance gates have a newly fitted mesh secondary fencing.

Possible Triggers
A quiet road wraps around half of the outdoor space, and while traffic is infrequent, the occasional walker, car, or cyclist may be seen passing by the wall or fencing. Some dogs, particularly those who are more sensitive, may find this challenging.

Horses
Horses may be seen grazing in the field to the left of the property. They are accustomed to the sights and sounds of dogs and are likely to avoid the fencelines. Sheep and other livestock will not be present.

Tucked away in a secluded meadow surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle rustle of trees, this enchanting shepherd's hut retreat is the very definition of dreamy countryside escapism. It's made up of two charming, corrugated cabins - a separate sleeping space, which is cosy and complete with a wood-burning stove and French doors, and a rustic bathroom. This retreat offers the perfect blend of off-grid simplicity and comfort. This gorgeous shepherd's hut is set in its own private space, offering peace and seclusion. Along with the hut, you’ll have full access to the beautiful three-acre field filled with wildflowers, mature trees, and winding pathways that surround it - perfect for a leisurely wander. There's also a peaceful pond area with a bench where you can sit and relax. This is fenced off to prevent unwanted doggy diving.

Outside, a vintage bistro table set awaits, ideal for morning coffees or romantic evening wine under the stars. A third covered structure houses a quirky outdoor kitchen space, inviting guests to cook amidst birdsong and golden hour light. Just beyond, a winding path leads past wildflowers and a cheerful pink parasol to a tranquil, fenced pond - the kind of scene fit for a storybook.

Inside, soft blankets, natural wood finishes, and pastel hues create a space that invites slow mornings and peaceful afternoons. Dogs are warmly welcomed with toys, blankets, poo bags and brushes, while humans are welcomed sweetly with some local fudge. Dogs are invited to curl up on the bed , when using the thoughtfully provided throws.

Spend long evenings stargazing by the fire pit, days reading beside the pond, or moments simply soaking up the silence, this is a stay where time slows down and nature takes centre stage.

Every inch of this retreat has been lovingly hand-built and crafted with care and attention to detail; the space reflects a deep dedication to comfort, beauty, and quality. The woodwork is warm and characterful, the furnishings thoughtfully chosen, and the atmosphere undeniably heartfelt. The hut is completely off-grid, offering a true escape from the hustle and bustle. Power is limited, but there are USB charging points available to keep your devices topped up.
