Extra features
Woodland Walks
There’s a lovely woodland walk, "Cally Wood", which is about 15 minutes away on foot. Some of the paths are narrower, which could be a consideration for reactive dogs, but other parts of the wood have much wider tracks and are quiet.
Sofa Snuggles
Dogs are warmly welcome to hop up on the sofa and snuggle up, making your stay as relaxing for your dogs as it is for you.
Welcome Goodies
Guests receive a warm welcome from the moment they arrive - and if you’ve a sweet tooth, you’re in for a delight. Scones, brownies, and a tempting array of goodies await to make you feel right at home.
Local Beaches
Carrick Beach is a quiet tucked-away and off the beaten track spot, a hidden gem that offers a tranquil escape that's often quiet even during peak season. The journey in involves a narrow, single-track road that can be a little rough in places, but those who take it slow are rewarded with breathtaking views and a wonderfully peaceful setting.
Parking is limited at the end of the road, so arriving early is recommended.
Dogs may be left
Dogs may be left unattended if they are comfortable and calm, preferably crated. This allows you to explore local pubs and cafes if your dog prefers to be away from busy environments. For dogs that enjoy cafes, there are plenty of dog-friendly ones to enjoy.
Things to note
Fencing
Ocean Drive benefits from open space around the property and is partially fenced at the front. Please note, however, that the area isn’t fully enclosed or secure.
Location
Set in a tranquil rural location, this accommodation offers a peaceful retreat for you and your dog. While there are a handful of neighbouring lodges, only one other is dog-friendly, so you’re unlikely to encounter more than two other dogs on site at any one time. That said, there may be other guests, so if your dog is particularly reactive to people, it’s something to keep in mind.
