Extra features

The Garden
The enclosed garden is fully fenced using a mix of fencing types, including stone walls, mesh fencing, and wooden panelling, making it very secure for smaller dogs. The fencing varies in height, with sections at 4ft and others at 6ft. A gate separates the two halves of the garden, dividing the lower stone-walled area from the main garden.

Hire Field
A short drive from Little Owl Hideaway, you will find "Unleashed Ruthin", a 1-acre secure hire field available for use, although cows occasionally graze opposite.

Treats
The hosts truly go above and beyond - your furry friend will be delighted with a warm welcome of delicious homemade doggy treats, lovingly prepared just for them!

Pub & Public Transport
There is a pub and a bus stop just a short walk away, making this place easily accessible by public transport. The pub is dog-friendly and popular with locals, offering a welcoming atmosphere, but it may not be suitable for most anxious dogs. Depending on their needs.

Things to note

Sounds
It's worth noting that this accommodation is located next to the church, which may be less ideal for noise-sensitive dogs that may struggle with the chimes.

The outer part of the garden with views over the field may occasionally see a car pass. However, this area can be gated off if needed - we only saw one car pass during our stay.

Car parking is shared, but you can arrange a remote check-in if needed. Host has dogs on-site, but they are kept well away, completely out of sight and sound.

Livestock
Cows may be grazing in a field opposite the end section of the garden with the small white round table and chair. This can be gated off from the larger portion of the garden. There is a garden wall/hedge and a small lane/road between the grazing field and the garden. If your dog struggles with livestock, you can use the gate to divide the garden; however, it is unlikely that the cows would graze that close to the wall to be an issue for most dogs. And dogs would need to be tall enough to see over this wall to see the cows.

The host does not own this field, and there is no public access.

Find out more

Little Owl Hideaway is a charming set of cabins that create a romantic retreat for two, complete with modern comforts and an enclosed garden that's perfect for you and your dog. Located in the picturesque conservation village of Llanrhaeadr, known for its rich history and scenic beauty, this getaway is ideal for exploring the wonders of the surrounding area.

Upon arrival, you meander up the boardwalk path to enter the hideaway and its enclosed garden. The accommodation was formerly the host's show garden, which has been thoughtfully divided up and transformed into a cosy and private space. A buffer garden belonging to the host sits in between, so you feel beautifully tucked away in your own peaceful hideout. This is where you’ll find two thoughtfully designed cabins.

One serves as a cosy studio space, featuring a comfortable sofa, Smart TV, and double bed, along with a selection of local books. Across the garden, the other cabin is a stylishly furnished kitchen/diner equipped with everything you need, including local farm fresh milk, eggs and, if you're lucky, a delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake! You can open the doors to the deck, where you can dine al fresco while enjoying stunning garden views.

Canine guests aren't left out either - they also receive a warm welcome, with throws for the furniture so that they can snuggle up with you, poo bags, water bowls and hand-baked chicken treats. The host Clare has put together a wonderful guide in the guestbook, full of local dog walks and recommendations that's an absolute must-read for planning adventures. Set in the scenic Vale of Clwyd, there’s plenty to see and do within a 10-mile radius. Take advantage of scenic walks starting right from your doorstep, all while soaking in the serenity of the woodland. With outdoor lighting creating a warm ambience at night, this is the perfect escape to unwind, reconnect with nature, and create lasting memories.

The garden has a tucked-away path, that opens into a cosy wooded space with additional seating areas that looks out onto the hills - the perfect spot for a morning cuppa. You can also relax in a wooden arbour, or take in the breathtaking views over the Clwydian range with a good book. With established plants, gravel paths, and decking, the setting offers superb tactile enrichment for adventuring pups and isn't short of magical views for the humans. The spacious decking area is ideal for outdoor dining, complete with a log burner, BBQ, and seating.

Two smaller cabins house an eco-friendly shower and a separate WC. Every detail has been carefully crafted for enhanced comfort and to allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the peaceful, natural surroundings, complete with birdsong and a beautifully manicured garden space.
