The quest for quiet beaches is one that most dog parents face; however, it’s even more crucial for those who, like me, have reactive or anxious dogs. My dog, Loki, is reactive to other dogs due to a history of being attacked and has even been attacked on beaches, which put us off visiting them for quite some time. However, there are plenty of beautiful beaches along the English and Welsh coasts that are quiet and peaceful - if you know where and how to look for them. I won’t be revealing any locations here because I want to ensure they remain the hidden gems that they are. However, instead, I’ll equip you with the key elements I use and other tricks to help you find your own quiet beach spots. Reactive Dog Friendly B&B Cotswolds

In July we enjoyed the most brilliant Reactive Dog Friendly B&B at Hare Barn in Dumbleton, in the Cotswolds countryside. As soon as we arrived we received the warmest of welcomes from the owner Jackie, who gave us a thorough tour and welcomed Loki. (She knew Loki was dog reactive so made sure to keep her dogs away when she came to greet us.) She lives on-site, just opposite and is always on hand and is truly the most incredible host!

Reactive Dog Friendly Holiday at Rowley Farm

Last summer we stayed at the Old Dairy at Rowley Farm in Worcester. As a reactive dog parent, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to find suitable places to stay that are canine-reactive friendly, especially when you have a dog reactive dog like Loki.
